Company Overview:
Our client, a leading company in the medical device industry, is seeking a Senior Manager to oversee and transform the General Affairs (GA) function. This pivotal role will support two key business units across Tokyo and Osaka, with the mission of optimizing processes, driving efficiency, and introducing innovative services to improve the overall associate experience.
Position Overview:
The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving the transformation of General Affairs by leading both strategic initiatives and daily operations. This position focuses on improving existing processes, exploring new technologies like chatbots for automating transactional tasks, and enabling associates to focus on higher-value activities. You will lead a team of 10 associates, half of whom are based in Tokyo, with the rest in Osaka. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing process transformation and technological implementation, particularly in environments requiring operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Transformation and Optimization:
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans that align with company goals.
- Spearhead projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, such as the introduction of new services.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, leveraging technology to drive change and enhance associate productivity.
2. Leadership and Team Management:
- Oversee and guide a team of 10 associates (split between Tokyo and Osaka), ensuring the effective management of daily GA operations, including handling transactional tasks and responding to inquiries.
- Foster a culture of proactivity, encouraging team members to identify areas for improvement and actively contribute to process transformation initiatives.
3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance business operations.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure the seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
4. Handling Unexpected Issues:
- Manage unexpected challenges swiftly and effectively, with a focus on business continuity.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize risks, including addressing issues in facilities management, fleet management, and emergency response planning.
5. Reporting and Alignment with Business Process Excellence:
- Report directly to the Director of Business Process Excellence (Hisayoshi Ootsu), providing regular updates on project status, performance metrics, and transformation efforts.
- Ensure alignment with the broader business process strategy and long-term vision of the company.
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- 3-5+ years of experience managing teams and leading transformation initiatives in a business operations context.
- Strong background in managing large-scale process improvements and driving technological advancements.
- Excellent strategic thinking, with the ability to align projects with the company’s vision and goals.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with senior leadership and internal teams.
- Ability to manage change, address operational challenges, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in commercial or non-operational roles is highly desirable.
- Fluency in both Japanese and English is a plus.
