Introduction

The Head of Information Technology plays a pivotal role in managing the organization’s IT landscape, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and security. This leadership position is vital for aligning IT strategies with business goals while fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.


 About the Role

As the Head of Information Technology, you will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with various regional and local functional heads. Your focus will be on executing IT strategies, maintaining compliance with local regulations, and managing information security, all while supporting the overall objectives of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Execution: Propose and align the overall IT strategy with senior management, ensuring effective execution in collaboration with the head office.
  • Budget and Expense Management: Define and monitor the IT budget, track spending against forecasts, and manage invoices and recharges.
  • Governance: Ensure compliance with group policies and local regulations; establish and review local IT policies and support audits.
  • Information Security: Collaborate with relevant departments to manage information security, including access management and data privacy, while addressing local needs.
  • Overall IT Management: Oversee IT services including user support, infrastructure, and application management, primarily through outsourcing and local teams.
  • Incident Management: Work with the central IT function to manage and resolve incidents.
  • Project Management: Lead IT projects across various teams, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business needs.
  • SME Participation: Engage in working groups focusing on business continuity, vendor management, and risk compliance.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee third-party vendor relationships, conducting service reviews and due diligence.
  • Team Management: Guide and evaluate the performance of IT team members, setting clear goals and expectations.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Over 7 years of experience in managing IT functions, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure management (cloud services, networking, servers, storage, etc.).
  • Proficiency in IT security management practices (patching, firewall management, endpoint security, etc.).
  • Familiarity with local regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Excellent people management skills and a commitment to integrity.
  • Strong communication abilities in both English and Japanese, with a business-level proficiency.
  • Enthusiasm for new technologies and a proactive approach to driving improvements.
