Introduction:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional for the position of Assistant Director in Retail Sales. This role is vital for driving the growth of the Retail Sales business, particularly in the development of fund wrap and sub-advised business.
About the Role:
The Assistant Director, Retail Sales will report to the Head of Retail Sales and will be responsible for executing strategies that contribute to team and company objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills to achieve sales targets while expanding the business in key markets.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Retail Sales in achieving team and company objectives by executing effective strategies and leading the team.
- Develop the fund wrap and sub-advised business to generate inflows over the mid to long term, focusing on key strategies and market expansion.
- Manage and execute new fund launches and marketing plans for existing products, taking into account market trends, client needs, and product features.
- Communicate proactively with various client levels, including headquarters, investment consultants, sales teams, and key personnel within fund wrap providers and retail fund distributors.
- Explore sales and promotional activities, showcasing excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Initiate new product ideas to enhance the business offering.
- Collaborate with other teams to address client inquiries efficiently.
- Ensure that all sales activities comply with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Over 10 years of experience in the asset management industry, particularly with foreign asset managers.
- Quasi-institutional skills with excellent English proficiency for effective engagement with regional offices.
- Strong motivation for sales, with a proven track record of exceeding client expectations and achieving sales targets.
- Familiarity with financial regulations, industry association rules, and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of investment management, products, services, and market dynamics.
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese (both spoken and written) is required.
- Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
