We are working on a leadership position for a company focusing on Point-of-Care Diagnostics. This role offers an opportunity to drive strategic growth and operational excellence in Japan’s POC (Point-of-Care) market.
About the Role:
The Head of POC will lead and shape the POC strategy in Japan, aiming to establish a top presence in the IVD industry. The role requires building, leading, and coaching a talented team of business and sales managers while fostering company values and culture. The successful candidate will collaborate with both regional and global HQ to align targets, strategies, and operational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Decision-Making: Develop and implement the Go-to-Market (G2M) strategy in Japan for POC, ensuring alignment with global headquarters.
- Business Growth & Performance: Set KPIs, manage sales zones, and drive operational excellence to meet financial targets.
- People Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team of managers, ensuring talent growth and empowerment.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with key departments including DX, Healthineers, and Global HQ to ensure smooth operations and strategy alignment.
- Problem Resolution: Escalate and resolve key issues related to pricing, products, and operational challenges as needed.
- Cultural & Compliance Standards: Uphold company values, integrity, and compliance, while fostering an inclusive and empowered team environment.
Requirements:
- Extensive Experience: 10+ years of business management experience, particularly in sales, product/strategic marketing, and business development, ideally within the POC or healthcare device sector.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading large teams (100+ members) and achieving business goals.
- Language Skills: Fluency in both Japanese (native-level) and English (business-level) for effective communication with global and regional teams.
- Educational Background: An MBA or equivalent general management training is preferred.
- Digital Skills: Strong digital literacy, especially in using CRM tools for sales enablement and performance tracking.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and ability to manage key stakeholders effectively.
