Introduction:

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled professional to join a dynamic investment team as an Investment Product Analyst. The role will involve working closely with the Investment Directors and the broader Product Management team to support business management and client servicing for Japanese equities. The role provides exposure to both Japanese and global clients and involves active collaboration with fund managers, analysts, and distribution teams.


About the Role:

The Investment Product Analyst will play a crucial role in the Product Management team, primarily focused on Japanese equities. This role requires assisting the Investment Directors with various product-related tasks such as business development, client servicing, and communication efforts. The position sits within the Japanese equities investment team and serves as a liaison between distribution and investment teams, ensuring seamless communication with clients on performance, market updates, and positioning.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Provide timely and comprehensive updates on investment/product-related information to distribution teams in Japan and overseas.
  • Maintain and update standard marketing materials in both English and Japanese.
  • Develop responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) related to investment products, in both languages.
  • Collaborate with distribution colleagues to create customized marketing materials tailored to specific client needs.
  • Handle ad-hoc inquiries and requests concerning investment or product matters.

Client Services:

  • Develop and maintain commentaries for client reporting, ensuring quality and accuracy in both English and Japanese.
  • Prepare for investment review meetings with clients and consultants, where Investment Directors will discuss portfolio activities, performance attribution, and market outlook.
  • Handle client inquiries and requests related to investment/product matters for existing clients.
  • Coordinate the account setup process for new mandates, including executing investment guidelines.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification is required.
  • CMA and/or CFA designation (or candidacy) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of investment principles and strong technical skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese (both oral and written communication is required).
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in office software.
