Makana Partners is seeking talented Executive Search Consultants to join our rapidly growing business. As a member of our team, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working remotely from anywhere in the world or from one of our Japan offices. As a Search Consultant, you'll play a critical role by:
- Building long-term relationships with our dynamic multinational clients through high-touch, consultative executive search services.
- Showcasing your expertise and building your professional profile through social media, thought leadership articles, podcast interviews, and networking events.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive business development and build long-term client relationships.
- Be a trusted advisor, providing high-touch, consultative executive search services.
- Proactively build a pipeline of new work and contribute to proposals and job pitches.
- Manage full end-to-end search delivery and handle complex projects.
- Demonstrate exceptional LinkedIn research and sourcing skills.
- Write thought leadership articles and client presentations.
- Embrace technology, efficiency, and collaboration to achieve daily goals.
- Participate in team meetings and forecasting calls.
- Our consultants typically manage 2-3 retainers or 8-10 contingency projects at a time, ranging from 12 million JPY to 50 million JPY or more.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree qualification required.
- Search experience as a consultant or in-house recruitment specialist.
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of industries, companies, and market trends.
- Excellent talent identification and assessment skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in LinkedIn, G Suite, CRM software, social networking sites, and other online databases.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Japanese communication skills are preferred.
- IT, marketing, and/or project management experience preferred.
