Introduction:

We are looking for a seasoned leader to take on the role of Vice President of Country Operations for a global business process outsourcing (BPO) company. This role involves overseeing the strategic and operational functions of the organization in Japan, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and driving overall business success.

About the Role:

As the VP of Country Operations, you will lead diverse teams across departments and play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to achieve business objectives. The position demands strong leadership, deep understanding of the local market, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring profitability, and representing the company at industry events and client engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and market objectives.
  • Oversee key functions such as customer service, finance, and other operational departments to ensure efficiency and performance.
  • Monitor and track business performance against established targets, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility across all operations.
  • Foster relationships with stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and other engagements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of department managers, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Stay updated on market trends and industry best practices to inform business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Extensive leadership experience, preferably in customer experience, BPO, or similar fields.
  • Strategic Skills: Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies successfully.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Japanese market and its cultural nuances.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop cross-functional teams.
  • Skills: Experience in financial planning, project management, and process improvement methodologies.
