IT Manager (SAP FI/CO)
Introduction We are currently supporting a search for an IT Manager (SAP FI/CO) on behalf of our client, a company in the manufacturing industry. This role owns the Finance and Controlling domains of the company's SAP ERP landscape. It is based at the Tokyo headquarters and bridges Accounting/Finance and IT.
About the Role In this position, you act as the owner of the Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) domains within our client's SAP ERP landscape, leading implementation, enhancement and operational maintenance. Because our client operates in the manufacturing industry, you translate business requirements, including manufacturing cost accounting, into system solutions. You work as the link between Accounting/Finance and IT, and you are accountable for both managing a small team and delivering projects, in coordination with global and regional sites and headquarters.
Responsibilities SAP FI/CO Ownership * Lead planning, requirements definition, implementation and operations/maintenance of SAP FI/CO * Optimize controlling processes, including product costing (CO-PC)
Business Partnership * Partner with Accounting/Finance to understand business challenges * Translate business needs into clear system requirements
Project Delivery * Manage project scope, schedule and budget * Control project risks and oversee vendors
Team Leadership * Develop and manage a small team of internal members and external partners * Coordinate work across internal and external resources to meet delivery goals
Operations and Global Coordination * Establish and improve operational processes such as incident and change management * Coordinate with global and regional sites and headquarters
Requirements * 3+ years of small-team management experience * SAP experience covering both implementation and operation * Hands-on project management experience * Bookkeeping knowledge at JCCI Level 2 or equivalent accounting knowledge * Experience at a foreign-affiliated company, or substantial overseas/international experience * Native-level Japanese and highly proficient to fluent English, able to conduct business communication internally and externally * Fluency in both accounting and IT terms, with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive problem-solving in a global environment
