Introduction An established real estate investment and asset management firm is seeking a Vice President to join its hotel asset management team in Japan. The firm manages real estate investments on behalf of private funds sponsored by a leading global alternative investment manager, as well as selected external investors. This is an opportunity to contribute to the performance and value creation of hotel assets within a sophisticated investment platform.

About the Role The Vice President will be responsible for managing hotel assets held through private real estate funds and separate account structures. Working closely with investment partners and a range of internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will develop and implement asset management strategies, oversee property operations, and identify opportunities to enhance asset value.

The role sits within a dedicated team established in October 2022 to manage private fund investments, offering exposure to a different investment structure from the firm's traditional listed REIT asset management business. The position also involves supporting coordination related to real estate acquisitions.

Responsibilities ◉Manage hotel assets held by private real estate funds and separate account structures. ◉Develop and execute asset management strategies and operating plans to maximize asset value and investment performance. ◉Oversee tenant relations, property and building management, leasing activities, and engineering matters in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. ◉Coordinate with property managers, building managers, service providers, and other external partners to ensure effective property operations. ◉Identify opportunities to improve asset performance and implement initiatives to enhance the value of hotel investments. ◉Support coordination with investment partners and affiliated entities in connection with real estate acquisitions. ◉Work collaboratively within a small, developing team, taking ownership of responsibilities and contributing across functional boundaries as required.

Requirements ◉Bachelor's degree or higher. ◉Experience in asset management within the private real estate fund industry, ideally with a focus on hotel assets. ◉Business-level English reading and writing skills. ◉Japanese proficiency equivalent to JLPT N2 or above. ◉Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email. ◉Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. ◉A proactive, positive, and flexible approach, with the ability to work effectively in a small team without rigidly defined responsibilities. ◉A Japanese Real Estate Transaction Specialist (Takken) license is preferred. ◉Candidates must not be second-degree relatives of a supervisory officer of either of the two specified listed real estate investment corporations.

Why Apply? ◉Work on high-profile real estate investments: Gain exposure to hotel assets managed through private real estate funds backed by a leading global investment platform. ◉Play a direct role in value creation: Develop and implement strategies to improve property performance and enhance investment returns. ◉Broaden your investment experience: Build expertise in private fund and separate account structures beyond traditional listed REIT asset management. ◉Collaborate with experienced investment professionals: Work closely with investment partners and a broad network of internal and external stakeholders. ◉Take on a senior, hands-on role: Join a relatively small team where initiative, flexibility, and ownership are valued, with the opportunity to contribute across multiple aspects of hotel asset management.
