Background: newly created position

Role: this role will manage a medium-sized team and oversee all areas of HR outside of talent acquisition. It will sit on the leadership team and work closely with the country manager, regional and global HR, the senior management team in Japan and other key stakeholders to drive HR strategies and solutions to support the company reach its business goals. Some key projects include M&A, benchmarking and implementation of a new benefits program, rollout of HRBP structure, etc.

Company: this European luxury retailer has a 100 year old history. Their dedication to sustainability (reusing material), giving back (scholarship) and protecting nature sets them apart from other luxury retailers. They have a global footprint with Japan being one of its major markets.

Background: replacement. 

Role: while this role will receive significant support locally and regionally, it’ll also manage one L&D assistant manager that will lead training and talent development. This position will focus on organizational design, internal mobility, recruitment, training, C&B (short term and long term rewards), the rare employee relations issue, and giving input on budgeting. The ideal person needs to be hands-on and strategic collaborating with the leadership team.

Role: this is an individual contributor role that reports to the HR director based in Japan. It will also work closely with other HR business partners, L&D, TA, HR service and operations staff. This HR manager role will support the retail business and focus on workforce planning, employee engagement and talent management.

Culture: the team is dynamic, professional, and performs at a high level. There’s a fair number of international interactions so strong business English is required. As there’s a large team, future career paths included moving to the regional HQ in Singapore or taking other HR business partner or COE positions.

Company: this American biotechnology company specializes in the discovery, development, and delivery of therapies for the treatment of various diseases to patients worldwide.

Background: replacement.

Role: this role reports to the head of HR in Japan and will work with a L&D specialist, a HR operations specialist (payroll, social insurance, policy), and an admin/temp staff. There’s also an RPO team in charge of recruiting. This position will be a mix of hands-on HRBP operations along with strategic project work including leading D&I. There’s a lot of opportunity to work with overseas counterparts and as they really care about development, there’s opportunity to take on people management responsibilities or move to another position in or outside Japan in the future.

Culture: they have a flexible and agile culture that’s people oriented. The pace of business is faster compared to a typical pharmaceutical company but perhaps slower than a modern IT organization.

Role: This is an end-to-end recruiting role attracting and engaging talent, partnering with the management team and talent acquisition colleagues, and candidate management. The focus will be managing complex roles that involve regional/global hiring managers and headhunt from key competitors. The ideal person is passionate about sourcing (mix of agency and direct sourcing), is reliable, collaborative, and able to promote the brand.
